I would choose an amazing location and bring more props into the scene. If i could have used a gym mat, or a room with mirrors, i could have captured a more sporty setting.
WHAT DIDN’T WORK?
Due to corona virus, I didnt get to shoot in the location i would have liked to, which makes the photo much less sporty than it could have been. If i’d been able to shoot in a gym, or a hall, or somewhere more fitting to the subject the photo would have been much better.
WHAT WORKED?
I think using harsh light on the subject works for a boxing style photoshoot. It shows the raw, emotional. facial expressions of the subject and bring all attention to the expression..

WHAT WOULD I DO DIFFERENTLY?
If I had access to the kit store at university, I would have got a DSLR, a better tripod, and maybe a gimbal. This would have made it much easier to make a full, professional video. Although, I am happy with how my DIY set up worked!
WHAT DIDN’T WORK?
One thing that i think didn’t work most about the video was the quality of the cut aways, if I had have used a DSLR i think it would have looked a lot more professional, as I feel like the cutaways should have been filmed in good quality.
WHAT WENT WELL?
I think the interview scenes were extremely well lit and shooting from 2 different angles gave me more time to be creative with my video! I used a soft box and standard white light, to give the subject a white light effect, as yellow light would have affected the appearance of the interview in a negative way. I liked the placement of the interviewee in the centre of the frame, and also cutting to a separate, less flattering view. It was almost as if we could see 2 sides to each subject.
